Customer Service Plan

  • You can find supporting videos for making connections to SDEDS using various file transfer protocol tools on the Openreach portal.  Navigate to:  Help & Support>Guides>Secure Data Exchange and Distribution System.

  • How you choose to download and distribute each report/data set will be down to your IT and system design.  Our SDEDS team will be interested in a basic understanding of your planned set-up so they can assist if directly contacted by your operational teams looking for SDEDS data.  You can find more information about this in the SDEDS User Guide on the Openreach portal.  Navigate to:  Help & Support>Guides>Secure Data Exchange and Distribution System

  • The associated documentation for a dataset will indicate whether an archive of old files is available.  You can find more information about this in the associated documentation for the dataset you want to know about.  This documentation, if it is available for your dataset, is available in the Help & Support Guides section of the Openreach portal.  Navigate to:  Help & Support>Guides>Secure Data Exchange and Distribution System and access the OR-SDEDS Library file to find the associated documentation filename.

  • Section 6 of the SDEDS User Guide outlines the change governance process that datasets provided via SDEDS will go through in the event of new or different data being included or removed from the dataset.  You should speak to the data owner for the dataset you want to discuss if you want to request a change to a dataset.  The data query owner is listed in the OR-SDEDS Library file, navigate to:  Help & Support>Guides>Secure Data Exchange and Distribution System.

  • With the introduction of the FTTP Commercial Insight Report API and the available Daily Delta, Openreach no longer maintains a Bulk Checker Facility.

CPs should now be able to pass queries to the API in order to discover availability of FTTP at either a Postcode/UPRN level or an exchange level.

The nature of the API approach would enable a CP to develop their own facility to be able to check if FTTP was available at point of enquiry.

If a CP deems it necessary to support larger marketing campaigns, then we can produce a single FTTP service available check against CP provided assets. Please contact your account manager to discuss further.

Please note that all returned data either via the API or a request via a CP account manager will only be against the current CRFS report data set.

2.1 Infrastructure and Deployment Reporting

Last updated: 25 February, 2024

To assist CPs with business case planning, forecasting, and marketing and sales, Openreach provides several regular reports indicating our proactive build plans, in bulk.  All of the reports are subject to change, but are the best view that we have of our field teams’ build progress at any point in time.

Here is a summary of the reports available:

  • Handover report

o    Lists the parent / child exchange relationship and the associated live and planned premises and Layer 2 switch (L2S) volumes associated with the parent exchange.  This report is refreshed quarterly with any new exchanges or L2S details, and the volumes of live and planned premises is updated weekly.

  • Infrastructure report

o    Provides detail of the L2Ss (Layer 2 switches) available or being built in the next two quarters where the CP will need to order GEA Cablelinks if they wish to sell FTTP services to end customers served from the associated parent exchange.  Again, this report is refreshed quarterly and updated weekly.

  • Pot of Premises / Marketing reports are split into three files:

o    A report listing all of the premises that are currently live and able to order FTTP, which is updated weekly. (Called the Marketing Live Report.)

o    A report with the premises that are planned to go live in the next three months, updated quarterly.  (Called the Marketing Next Quarter Report.)

o    A report of the “pot” of the premises that are in scope for build in 4-12 months, updated quarterly.  (Called the Pot of Premises.)

You can find more information about these reports, including filenames and data contents here.
