This briefing is to inform CPs about the launch of a new Proactive FTTP Upgrades process on 1 April 2025 replacing the current process.

On 1 April 2025, Openreach is launching a new Proactive FTTP Upgrades process. 

This will replace the process launched on 2 September 2024 (see briefing NGA2021/24).

As the number of CPs using the Proactive FTTP Upgrade process has increased, this has provided a number of learnings for both Openreach and CPs to improve the process and to optimise communications to end customers. Following engagement with industry at CFPCG on 13 November 2024, Openreach is introducing a new process that will replace the current process.

Key Points:

•  The existing Proactive FTTP Upgrades Process Description (available here) will be withdrawn on 1 April 2025 and a new Proactive FTTP Upgrades Process Description (available here) will become active on the same date.

• The new Proactive FTTP Upgrades process will also be published under the Process Documents section of the FTTP page of the CP portal.
