This briefing is to inform CPs about the next steps for the Proactive FTTP Upgrade journey.

Openreach offers a variety of FTTP order journeys designed around the assumption that the end customer has initiated the provision. We also recognise that there may be times where CPs wish to migrate an end customer to FTTP without the end customer initiating the provision. The Proactive FTTP Upgrade process was designed to meet this need by providing communication with the end customer tailored to this type of migration.

Openreach announced a special offer on 28 August 2023 stating the first appointment amendment and standard cancellation charges for FTTP orders would be rebated where the orders are part of Proactive FTTP Upgrades (see briefing NGA2018/23 for details).

The special offer is due to expire on 30 September 2024, however given the demand for proactive migrations to FTTP and the success of the process to date, Openreach will make this a standard process for CPs from 01 October 2024.
