This briefing is to inform CPs about the launch of a £0 Proactive FTTP Upgrades connection charge for migrations to FTTP speeds of 80/20M and above from 7 May 2025.
IOn 7 May 2025, Openreach is launching a £0 Proactive FTTP Upgrades connection charge for migrations to FTTP speeds of 80/20M or above. The Proactive FTTP Upgrades Process Description will be updated to reflect this pricing launch.
A Proactive FTTP Upgrade is an order by a CP to migrate an existing end customer to FTTP without the end customer initiating the migration provision. Such a provision will be initiated by the end customer’s existing CP on behalf of that end customer. Openreach will only proceed to provision where the appointment date is explicitly accepted by the end customer.
The £0 connection charge will apply to Proactive FTTP Upgrades Standard provisions for migrations to speeds of 80/20M or above. Premium and Advanced connections for Proactive FTTP Upgrades will be charged at the prevailing rate as set out in the Price List, minus the standard connection charge (currently £30 and £175 respectively).
In order for the £0 Proactive FTTP Upgrade connection charge to apply, CPs must follow the process and timescales set out in the Proactive FTTP Upgrades Process Description. The £0 Proactive FTTP Upgrade connection charge will also only apply to migrations to FTTP speeds of 80/20M or above.
Key Points:
The Proactive FTTP Upgrade connection charge will be added as new entries to the price list for each of the Standard, Premium and Advanced connection journeys. The Standard connection variant for migrations to FTTP speeds of 80/20M and above will be £0.
