This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs).

This briefing is to inform all CPs about a change to the LLU and Access Locate power price.

We regularly review the costs and prices for electricity to ensure we only pass through our average annual costs in our prices.

As a result of a regular review, this briefing is to notify CPs of a decrease in the price of power usage per kWh from £0.2478 to £0.2236 for all comingling products utilised for LLU, Access Locate and Access Locate Plus from 1 December 2024. Any power used from this date onwards will be charged at the revised rate until further notice.

The power cost reduction reflects BT Group’s decision to scale back purchasing of Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs). This is due to concerns that they, and other businesses, have raised relating to reporting transparency, delivery of environmental benefits and pricing volatility in the REGO market.
