For Information
This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs).
This briefing is to inform CPs about a small volume trial of the Prove Telecare site visit reason (SVR) developed in response to industry requirements set out in SoR 8675 starting 2 August 2024 and running until 22 October 2024. CPs are required to sign a Trial Contract to participate. Please contact Gordon.cannon@openreach.co.uk for more details.
This trial is testing a new Openreach field engineering SVR providing support to CPs’ end customers to safely migrate their fixed line telecare devices to SOGEA and FTTP with new CP-provided IP voice services (VoIP).
The trial will test the systems, engineering training, on the day processes and procedures associated with moving end customers’ fixed voice telecare device(s) safely to new IP broadband and VoIP services.
To participate in the trial, a CP must confirm that it has agreements in place with telecare providers in the trial areas of Cardiff, North Yorkshire and Lambeth & Southwark to ensure that the telecare provider can arrange for a telecare engineer to be present with an Openreach engineer at the migration appointment. This will ensure that the end customer is always left with a working telecare service. Further details are set out in the Trial Contract.
If you wish to participate in the trial then please contact Gordon.cannon@openreach.co.uk who will provide you with more details on the entry conditions, scope and Trial Contract.
CPs are not permitted to participate in this trial unless they have signed a Trial Contract.
Note this briefing does not apply to Scotland or Northern Ireland, as the trial areas are in England and Wales.
This briefing supports ACCN OR937.
