GEN056/24 Openreach changes in support of One Touch Switch go-live

13/06/2024

For Information

This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs) who consume FTTC (VDSL and Gfast), FTTP, LLU, SOGEA (VDSL and Gfast), SOTAP and WLR products.

This briefing is to inform CPs about Openreach changes in support of One Touch Switch go-live.

The One Touch Switching Company announced a go-live date for One Touch Switch (OTS) of 12 September 2024. Openreach has shared with industry the changes we are making in support of OTS:

1. Removing Cancel Other on migration orders;
2. Removing the 10 working day Minimum Lead Time (MLT) for migrations (to be replaced with new MLTs);
3. Removing the 7 day rental liability charge for WLR standalone ceases; once this is removed,rental will be charged up to the termination date of the product.

All of the above functionality has been deployed switched off. We plan to turn on the first two changes on 12 September 2024. As the third change involves the billing system it must be switched on in an EMP release, therefore we are planning to make this change in EMP R5650 (14 September 2024).

In support of these changes, updates have been made to the WLR, MPF and SMPF contracts; the updated contracts will be effective from 12 September 2024. The MPF and SMPF contracts refer out to product documentation for the new MLTs; updated draft product documents have been shared with CPs via the ancillary documents process. Documentation for other products (FTTC, FTTP, SOGEA, SOTAP and WLR) will be updated nearer to OTS go-live.

This briefing supports ACCN OR933.
