GEN019/25 Business Standard process launch

26/02/2025

For Information

This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs).

This briefing is to inform CPs about the launch of the Business Standard process on 1 June 2025 on SOGEA, SOGfast and FTTP.

Following engagement with Communications Providers (CPs) at several Industry Working Groups (IWG) and as communicated at the Copper and Fibre Product Commercial Group (CFPCG) in July 2024, we are launching the Business Standard process for SOGEA, SOGfast and FTTP on 1 June 2025. This process will stipulate the minimum install type to the residential or non-residential premises to which the order is placed. The product journeys that sit under Business Standard are the Standard, Premium and Advanced Site Visit Reasons (SVR).

As part of the process, from 1 June 2025 if a SOGEA, SOGfast or FTTP appointed order is raised below the minimum install type for the end customer premises (as dictated by Ordnance Survey (OS) site classification, and an exemption does not apply) it will be returned to the CP as a Sales Query before KCI2 for them to amend the SVR to the minimum, or cancel the order.  Alternatively, CPs can request Openreach AutoCorrect these orders to the minimum install type, with relevant pricing, and the order will progress without the need for CP action.

From 1 June 2025 whether CPs choose to have their orders Autocorrected, or returned to the CP as a Sales Query ahead of KCI2 as a result of being raised with an SVR below the minimum install type, no charge will be raised on the first CP initiated amend or order cancellation pre first engineer visit.

CPs can also proactively choose to raise SOGEA, SOGfast and FTTP appointed orders based on the minimum install alignment published on the secure section of the Openreach portal in October 2024.

The terms and conditions for this process will take effect on 1 June 2025 and are located in the FTTP Product Description, FTTP Process Description and SOGEA Product Description.
