This briefing is to inform CPs about the launch of new equipment and wavelength options on OSEA 6500 Filter Connect and OSEA FC Lite.

Openreach is announcing the launch of the new OSEA 6500 Filter Connect (FC) Muxponder 800G card as an addition to the current Optical portfolio.

OSEA 6500 FC Mux 800 offers up to 800Gbit/s of managed wavelengths.

To accommodate the additional higher wavelength capacity of the card, Openreach are also launching a new 42-channel optical filter.

Openreach are also launching the new Advanced Amplifier Filter Chassis, which is capable of housing both filter and amplification within the same chassis. This is compatible with both OSEA 6500 FC and OSEA FC Lite products.

Orders for these new products will be accepted from 27/11/2023.

Product overview

OSEA 6500 FC Mux 800G card offers:

•        Up to 800Gbps wavelength capacity

•        A range of various client presentation options offering up to 400GE

•        Up to 6 clients on a single slot card offering 100GE or OTU4 in 100Gbps increments or dedicated 1 x 400GE client

•        A choice of no filter (subject to distance) or 42 channel filter option

•        Compatible with all new and existing OSEA 6500 chassis types

The updated product descriptions for OSEA 6500 and OSEA FC Lite will be available alongside the current product description.

The pre-order design request form (OREF) and Customer Request Form (CRF) will be updated in advance of launch. Pre-order designs and quotes for these new options can be requested from 6 November 2023.
