For information
This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs).
This briefing is to inform CPs about the launch of OSEA Rings and Chains including OSEA Link Bearer and OSEA 6500 price reductions.
Openreach is announcing the launch of Optical Spectrum Extended Access (OSEA) Rings and Chains utilising the new OSEA Link Bearer as an addition to the OSEA 6500 portfolio. Price reductions for the OSEA 6500 MUX 800 1 x 400Gb client interface, 2-slot, 7-slot, 14-slot and 32-slot chassis, and a simplified price list layout for 14-slot and 32-slot chassis AC power options is also notified.
Orders for OSEA Rings and Chains will be accepted from 20 November 2024.
Our current OSEA 6500 portfolio can already support network configurations other than simple point-to-point by deploying and linking together multiple point-to-point bearer services. However, to support customers with complex network requirements, a more flexible solution is required.
Equipment from the standard OSEA 6500 portfolio can be brought together and engineered to form a combined structure such as a ring, chain, hub and spoke or mesh topology using the new OSEA Link Bearer product.
Unlike simple point-to-point connections, the OSEA Link Bearer is a building block to provide DWDM connectivity between multiple sites and, when matched to standard OSEA 6500 components like ROADM, amplifiers and wavelength transponders, can deliver a robust, high-capacity, scalable and efficient network solution.
If you require a bespoke OSEA Ring and Chain solution, please contact your Openreach sales team who will discuss your requirements.
We have included terms for the new OSEA Ring and Chain service into the existing Connectivity Services Contract which deal with, amongst others, the complexity of deploying, commissioning and maintaining multi-site service. These updates to the Connectivity Service Contract to support the OSEA Ring and Chain solution have been notified with 28-days’ notice.
