Wholesale Extension Services (WES) & Wholesale End-to-End Services (WEES)

Wholesale Extension Services (WES) was withdrawn from new supply on 1 June 2011.

Support for WES/WEES products ends 31 March 2021

WES provides the connection between your network and an end customer. You can use your own network to connect that circuit to the far end, or just to the far edge of your network and then use another WES to complete the end-to-end circuit. An end customer to end customer version called Wholesale End-to-End Services (WEES) is also available.

WES and WEES have been superseded by Ethernet Access Direct (EAD). All variants, including 2.5Gbps & 10Gbps, have been withdrawn from new supply.

Key benefits

  • Offers high bandwidths from 10Mbps - 10Gbps
  • Point to point service offers excellent security
  • Enables end users to extend their network via another location and to share applications between those locations in a secure manner
  • Low degradation across network offers robust and predictable end user experience
