Ethernet Backhaul Direct (EBD)

Ethernet Backhaul Direct (EBD) is a highly efficient, cost effective way of delivering large volumes of data, quickly and securely. It delivers permanently connected, uncontended bandwidth from an Access Serving Node (ASN) to an Openreach Handover Point (OHP). If your point of presence is not in the exchange but a couple of miles down the road, for example, Bulk Transport Link (BTL) can be used.

Key benefits:

  • Offer cheaper video streaming and broadcast services to your customer
  • Meet the ever-increasing demand for next generation broadband applications
  • Resilience option offers affordable protection against fibre breaks and unforeseen issues
  • Extend the reach of your own networks
  • Make fast, informed decisions by checking backhaul availability via the Openreach portal.
