EAD is a next generation network compatible service designed to complement Openreach's Ethernet Backhaul Direct (EBD) and Bulk Transport Link (BTL) products already offered within the Connectivity Services portfolio.
Introduction
EAD will supersede many of the traditional access and backhaul service products currently used by Communications Providers such as the prevailing 10 Mbit/s, 100 Mbit/s and 1000 Mbit/s Wholesale Extension Services (WES), Wholesale End To End Ethernet Service (WEES) and Backhaul Extension Services (BES).

Ordering and Repair information
Ethernet Access Direct circuit orders should be placed using the eCo Order system or via the Openreach Business to Business (B2B) electronic gateway. The B2B gateway enables Communication Providers (CPs) to place their EAD orders via an electronic interface. In order to make use of this facility CPs should use the SOX files produced by Openreach to generate the XML messages that communicate with the B2B gateway.
The use of the EAD Customer Requirement Forms (CRFs) will be supported only if the eCo Order or B2B system is not in service.Please ensure that the latest version of each CRF is used when placing an order.
Note that macros are used within the CRF and must be enabled to allow the forms to work properly.

Aggregation Node Site dataset
The Aggregation Node Site dataset document, available below, has the intent of advising customers of the BT sites that are not available for direct connection using Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) under the Connectivity Services contract . These sites are grouped into defined Aggregation Nodes as listed in Ofcom's Business Connectivity Market Review final statement. For the avoidance of doubt, no connectivity is permittable between any BT site listed in one Aggregation Node with any BT site listed in another Aggregation Node. Connectivity between any two BT sites listed within a single Aggregation Node is allowable. For further Openreach Handover Point (OHP) site details cross reference should be made with Dataset 8 available from the Ethernet Secure area.
