This briefing on the GEA over FTTC pilot and early market deployment which will pass up to 500k premises is for all Communications Providers.

The Generic Ethernet Access over Fibre to the Cabinet (GEA-FTTC) product at bandwidths of up to 40 Mbit/s / 5 Mbit/s will be replaced with a product offering of up to 40 Mbit/s / 10 Mbit/s at the same rental price.

Openreach is pleased to announce our GEA-FTTC product at bandwidths of up to 40Mbit/s / 5Mbit/s will be replaced with a product offering of up to 40Mbit/s /10Mbit/s at the prevailing rental price of £88.80 per annum.

This price is in addition to the existing Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) or Metallic Path Facility (MPF) copper products over which the GEA-FTTC service is provided.  For pricing information please see ACCN OR151 in the NGA Portfolio Section of the Pricing Notification page.  Further information regarding Next Generation Access Product  pricing can be found on the Next Generation Access Products pricing pages. 

A special offer will also apply on the "Uplift charge from up to 40Mbit/s / 2Mbit/s product to up to 40Mbit/s / increased Upstream beyond 2Mbit/s up to 10Mbit/s product"” such that the £10 amend charge will be waived for any upstream 2Mbit/s to 10Mbit/s upgrades completed before 31 January 2010.  The pricing will be effective from 23 November 2009.
