SOR 6758 Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) Multiport (Phase 3)

updated: 07/09/2009

This briefing on Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) is for Connectivity Services Communications Providers.

This briefing is to advise all Connectivity Services Communications Providers that SOR 6758 Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) Multiport (Phase 3) has been put on hold and removed from the Connectivity Services roadmap. This follows agreement with CPs at the Process Group on 18/08/09 and a further review at the Product and Commercial Group on 19/08/09 supported this decision.

Following discussions with Communications Providers (CPs) at the Connectivity Services Process Group on 18th August 2009, CPs expressed the view that there was no current demand for EAD Multiport and that focus should be placed on higher priority developments in the work stack. It was therefore agreed that this requirement should be put on hold for the time being and that the SOR should be formally closed.  This decision was subsequently discussed and supported at the Connectivity Services Product and Commercial Group on 19th August 2009.

This briefing is to advise CP’s of this decision. If you have any comments, please contact us via mailto:ethernet@openreach.co.uk.

Minutes from the Connectivity Services Process Group are available from this page on the Openreach website.
