Access Locate
This is a new accommodation product provided by Openreach which enables customers, interested in having a Point of Presence (POP) in an MDF site, to use a POP for the accommodation of their Ethernet aggregation switches as well as LLU services.   Further information on the uses of the new product is available in the product description.

LLU CPs can presently order a new Access Locate POP build via the same processes used for LLU co-mingling.  Alternatively, LLU CPs can choose to convert their POPs, on a POP by POP basis, to Access Locate, where they require it. Each POP conversion will incur a £220 administration charge.

Ethernet CPs wishing to order Access Locate will be required to undertake the LLU Customer Establishment process to enable their orders to be raised as the product is supported by LLU systems. 

Access Locate Plus
This product offering, covered by the same contract as Access Locate, aims to provide CPs with the ability to redefine the use of their Access Locate POP on a rack by rack basis for the purpose of installing broadband servers, video servers, MSILs and private circuits.

The licence fee charge for this product is bespoke as it varies from MDF site and requires the whole POP to be under Access Locate Terms and Conditions. Any LLU CP wishing to use Access Locate Plus must convert its POPs to Access Locate on a POP by POP basis with each POP conversion incurring a £220 administration charge.

In light of the development and launch of Access Locate and Access Locate Plus, Openreach and BT Wholesale will be exploring options for BT Netlocate customers.

Openreach would like to advise CPs that a general review of the Access Locate / Access Locate Plus Terms and Conditions will commence on 1st September 2008.  Invitation to participate in the contract discussion will be sent out during August 2008.

The actual systems billing solution for this product is due in December 2008.  This means that:-

• New POP builds charges for Access Locate will be presented as LLU co-mingling charges via the LLU bill in the short term. The billing systems solution will re-use the LLU bill but will specify the build or charge as relating to Access Locate.

• Access Locate Plus charges and Access locate conversion administration charges will be accrued until the strategic solution is in place.
