Following the Government’s recent announcements on the roll out of smart meters in Great Britain, Openreach would be happy to discuss with any Communications Providers (CPs), their requirements for Openreach services, or new services, in order to participate in this project. 

In December 2009, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) announced plans for the roll out of smart electricity and gas meters to every household and small and medium non-domestic sites by 2020. Details are in this DECC press release which can be found here.
