Migration of end users from Blunsdon to Haydon Wick exchange - update

This briefing is for all Communications Providers and concerns the migration of end users from Blunsdon to Haydon Wick exchange

 

This brief provides further update to the information provided in General Briefing GEN006/07 issued 25/04/2007 regarding the opening of Haydon Wick Exchange in the Swindon area.

 

An integral part of Haydon Wick Exchange opening will be the transfer of approximately 2500 lines from Blunsdon Exchange.

 

As previously advised the telephone lines affected by this transfer are within the following number ranges:-

 

01793 700xxx range

01793 701xxx range

01793 702xxx range

01793 703xxx range

01793 704xxx range

01793 72xxxx range

 

Latest information is that the migration of lines affected is planned to commence in September 2007.

 

All Communications Providers whose end users are affected by the migration are requested to inform their end users that disruption to their service during the period of this migration will be kept to a minimum and that their end users will see no change to their telephone numbers. Broadband services provided over lines that are due to be migrated will continue to be available once the migration has been completed.

 

Further information on the commencement and completion dates for the migrations will be issued as soon as it is available.
