This briefing is applicable to all Communications Providers and relates to the planned new access network product, Generic Ethernet Access (GEA) in development for the Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) Pilot at Ebbsfleet, Kent.

Generic Ethernet Access (GEA) indicative pricing for the FTTP Pilot at Ebbsfleet

Openreach is pleased to announce our indicative proposed prices for the Generic Ethernet Access product suite.  These prices are only applicable to the Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) Pilot site at Ebbsfleet, Kent (planned to start on 31st August 2008).

Included for the first time within this suite of GEA products is a new ultra-fast product offering speeds up to 100Mbit/second downstream (as an ‘add-on’ to the 10Mbits/second product).  This is a significant step forward as it will support the fastest headline broadband speed available to consumers in the UK.

We have also defined a further product below the 10Mbits/second variant to offer a symmetric assured service of 500Kbits/second with speeds up to 2.5Mbit/s downstream.

The product range and proposed prices are offered to meet CP needs to supply voice and broadband services to various consumer market sectors.

Openreach would like to hold constructive dialogue on these prices with our customers, following which; we will seek to confirm the prices that will apply to the FTTP Pilot at Ebbsfleet through a further briefing.
