The MBE service is the quickest and easiest way of finding out the approximate whereabouts of Openreach plant in advance of excavation works between 07.30 and 18.00 hours Monday-Friday. If weekend maintenance is not scheduled on the MBE site, you can also access it during weekends but the system is unsupported.

Using this site

This site is to be used by authorised persons only. Unauthorised access to or misuse of this system is prohibited and constitutes an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. Once you have entered your personal username and password, you should identify the diagram you require and select a suitable map scale.

Security

Your username and password are provided for your personal use only and should not be disclosed to other persons. You will be prompted to change your password every 60 days. It should be at least 6 characters including at least one numeric. If an incorrect password is entered more than 3 times, or your account is not used at least once every 120 days, it will be automatically disabled and can only be reset by contacting the Help Desk on 0800 1693849, or via email at stoke.incoming.notices@openreach.co.uk Your password will be reset within 2 working days and will be emailed to your default email address. Accounts that are not accessed at least once every 6 months will be deleted and you will need to reapply for access.

Requesting Plant Diagrams

Our aim is to make it as easy as possible for you to obtain the Openreach plant diagrams you require. To enable us to identify your specific requirements and send the correct diagram to you, you must provide the following information

E-mail Address

Diagrams will be sent to your default email address. If you want this changed, please email stoke.incoming.notices@openreach.co.uk They will arrange for the change within 2 working days.

Boundary Box

This defines the size of the area which the diagram will cover. The suggested boundary box is 250 metres, which typically provides sufficient detail for our customers requirements. You may request a different size if you wish. Available sizes are 100 metres, 250 metres and 500 metres. For 500m boundaries and above, better quality prints are required. Please contact the Help Desk.

Diagram Required

You should enter details of the diagram you require using one of 3 methods:

Postal Address

You should be as precise as possible. Entering a full postcode is the most efficient method, though partial addresses may be accepted. After entering partial information, you should press the search button. The system will present you with a list of premises matching the partial address, allowing you to select one for submission. If the selected address starts with a '+', then the address can be expanded by clicking on the search button again.

Ordnance Survey Grid Reference

Enter the ordnance survey grid reference in the format NNNNN(NN),NNNNN(NNN). These give a potential accuracy of 0.1m. The brackets represent optional digits.

Map Reference

Enter the National Map Reference in the format of AA NNN(NN) NNN(NN). The brackets represent optional digits.

Browsers

This site is best viewed in Netscape 4.04+ and Internet Explorer 4.01+.

Plant Diagram Format

The diagram will be sent as an attachment to the email address specified in the request. The graphics format will be PNG (Portable Network Graphics).

Hours of Service

The site is available between 07:30 and 18:00 Monday to Friday.

Obtaining Assistance

Should you require assistance concerning a plant diagram you have received, you should contact the National Notice Handling Centre on 0800 169 3849, quoting the Reference ID that’s displayed on submission of the map request.
