For all Communication Providers
This briefing provides information on the GEA-FTTP product.Openreach is pleased to announce that we are moving to early market deployment launch* for our Generic Ethernet Access (GEA) over "Fibre to the Premisis" (FTTP) product with effect from 31st October 2011.
GEA-FTTP offers network connectivity with download speeds of 110Mb/s, and upload speeds of 30 MB/s will initially be available to order in the following areas as well as any additional areas that may be announced by Openreach prior to 31st October 2011:
Generic Ethernet Access over Fibre to the Premises (GEA-FTTP) enables you to add the fastest possible broadband services to your product portfolio, with upstream speeds of 30 Mb/sec - more than 20Mb/sec faster than other network providers.
Fibre connections from the exchange direct to the customer’s premises guarantee speeds, offer increased reliability and reduce the occurrence of electrical interference. FTTP offers a future proof service, with even quicker speeds expected in 2012 and technology capability of up to 1GB/s in the future.
2.5 times faster than the current FTTC, FTTP provides the capability to deliver multiple HD TV solutions as well as develop new high-bandwidth services for your SME and residential customers. Combine this with the addition of Openreach Managed Install service and provide hassle free installation of your router and your customer’s equipment in a single appointment.
To take part, customers need to be a registered CP, with backhaul connectivity to a GEA Cablelink in the relevant geographic area.
For further details of FTTP please contact your Sales Relationship Manager. Pricing detail is available at the Openreach website.
Notes:
*The GEA-FTTP product is not currently available for new housing developments.
