31/05/2012 For Information
This briefing on SLU is for SLU Communications Providers.
The purpose of this brief is to announce the conclusion of a 'proof of concept' trial for SLU batched orders. The 4 month ‘proof of concept’ trial notified to industry in February 2012 (LLU003/12) for SLU Batched Orders will conclude on 7 June 2012 and no further orders will be accepted from this date until further notice.
The aim of the 'proof of concept' trial was to test customers/CPs' ability to batch 5 SLU orders together for completion at the same PCP and for Openreach to carry out these jobs on the same day. The batched order was offered at a reduced price to reflect the potential field efficiencies.
The trial ran nationally for 4 months, with one trialist participating. Next steps are for Openreach to consider feedback, and trial learning with key participants and the outcome of the trial. Any future plans will be notified to industry via the SLU Industry Working Group in due course.
