This briefing is for LLU MPF Communications Providers and relates to changes to the LLU MPF L2C appointment reservation time out.Proposed changes to how long appointments can be reserved for applicable to LLU MPF L2C orders.
Openreach has been working closely with the Copper Products Commercial Group (CPCG) with regard to a number of issues related to appointment reservation for use on LLU MPF provision (L2C) orders.
Work on these issues has highlighted a difference in experience between the WLR and LLU products. The current process for appointment reservation on LLU allows an appointment to be reserved via Openreach Dialogue Services for a maximum period of 2 hours compared to 24 hours on WLR. After the time out period the reserved appointment expires and whilst Openreach will still make every effort to match a next available appointment with the Customer Required Date (CRD), it is not always possible.
All reserved appointments are conditional and will always be confirmed in the KCI2 message.
Openreach is planning to align the appointment timeout period for LLU and WLR in the following two stages.
Stage 1 - Openreach will increase the LLU MPF L2C time out period from 2 hours to 12 hours with effect from 21 January 2012
Stage 2 - Openreach will monitor the performance and impact of reserved appointments over a one calendar month period and if there is no adverse impact in appointment availability, the reservation period will be moved from 12 hours to 24 hours.
LLU MPF L2C includes SFI2 appointed orders.
