GEN040/12 Saturday appointment half price offer and free weekend appointments extension

02/05/2012    For Information

This briefing on Saturday and weekend appointments is for all Communications Providers.

In support of our wider service investment to deliver value to you and your customers Openreach is pleased to announce a special offer on half price Saturday appointments from 12 May 2012 until the end of June 2012. In addition free weekend appointments on provision and repair have been extended to include 5/6 May 2012.

Saturday appointments half price offer

From Saturday 12 May 2012 until Saturday 30 June 2012 inclusive a half price offer will be in place for any chargeable Saturday appointments.  During this period you will be charged half price, £6.25 rather than the standard charge of £12.50, for these appointments.

The half price offer:

  • applies to Saturday appointments that would normally be charged - provision and repair appointments for WLR3 (PSTN and ISDN2) and LLU (MPF and SMPF) only
  • is offered on a first come, first served basis
  • excludes SFI2, Broadband Boost and NGA (FTTC)
  • does not apply to Bank Holidays.

Extension of free weekend appointments

We previously extended the availability of free weekend appointments for both provision and repair to 29 April 2012. These arrangements have now been extended to include the weekend of 5 and 6 May 2012.

Free Weekend appointments:

  • apply to provision and repair appointments that would normally incur a charge on Saturdays and Sundays (e.g. WLR3 (PSTN only not ISDN2) and LLU (MPF and SMPF)
  • are offered on a first come, first served basis
  • exclude SFI2, Broadband Boost and NGA (FTTC)
  • do not apply to Bank Holidays.

This means you will be able to continue offering your customers greater flexibility in terms of booking appointments over the coming weeks.
