To reinforce the importance of the requirement, Openreach has formalised existing safety guidance including mandatory requirements contractors and engineers employed by Communications Providers (CPs) must follow when working at exchanges on power equipment.
The information, available via the link below, covers requirements prior to work being undertaken as well as what to do where power is to be disconnected and importantly what to do if things go wrong during equipment installation, maintenance or decommissioning work involving AC or DC power.
