This brief announces the launch of the Openreach Customer News Centre and is intended for ALL Communications Providers.

The purpose of this brief is to announce the launch of the Openreach Customer News Centre, a major improvement to the way we communicate with customers.

Today marks the launch of a brand new customer communications resource called the Openreach Customer News Centre.

This state of the art online resource is a new website, but in reality it's more than just a new website. It brings together various strands of information, for instance news and briefings, into a single location and notably introduces new elements into how we communicate with our customers, for instance access to multimedia content and social media tools.

Additionally, the Openreach Customer News Centre has been developed with ease of access in mind. No matter what device you use - whether desktop, tablet or smart phone - the site will automatically adjust to fit the screen.

We recognised it's not always easy to jump straight to the information you may need and our regular email communications, for news and briefings, were full of relevant content but often lost in busy inboxes.

We wanted to improve the way we communicate with customers and the way customers communicate with us; so the website is also intended for all industry stakeholders providing a way for consumer groups, government departments, local authorities and the media to keep in touch with what we’re doing.

Accessible right now at http://www.news-openreach.co.uk, the Openreach Customer News Centre complements rather than replaces our existing forms of communication - for instance, formal briefings will be posted in the usual place at www.openreach.co.uk - and conveniently replicated on the Customer News Centre. Our weekly Round-up message will eventually stop, but with certain types of emails continuing to be sent.
