ETH021/12 Available now: Two Ethernet EAD 10Mbit/s to EAD 100Mbit/s upgrade special offers

18/04/2012    For Information

This briefing is for Ethernet Communications Providers.

The purpose of this brief is to advise two special offers for Ethernet 10Mbit/s circuit upgrade available from 18 April 2012 to 17 October 2012.

Both special offers are designed to help customers in their decision making, relating to upgrades from EAD 10Mbit/s to EAD 100Mbit/s.

To enable Communication Providers to meet their customer needs, they can take a mix of these offers for the same customer, but only one offer can be applied to any single circuit. These offers can also not be used in conjunction with the EAD 10Mbit/s new provision offer.

Customers can therefore choose between the following two offers on a per circuit basis:

Three year strategic commitment

For a six month period nominate a circuit for upgrade from 10Mbit/s to 100Mbit/s that will remain upgraded for three years.

  • The nominated circuit will be a three year commitment to remain upgraded from EAD 10Mbit/s to EAD 100Mbit/s
  • Customers who do this will enjoy the first year's rental of the nominated circuit at the EAD 10Mbit/s price.
  • The difference in rental between the 100Mbit/s and 10Mbit/s price will be rebated at the end of the 3 year period.
  • Orders must be placed within the special offer period the final date of which is 17 October 2012.

Six month tactical circuit

For a 6 month period nominate an existing 10Mbit/s EAD circuit for upgrade from 10Mbit/s to 100Mbit/s with low risk.

  • At the end of the six month period any upgraded circuits nominated as part of the offer can be downgraded again to the previous 10Mbit/s bandwidth if downgrade orders are received by 17 October 2012.
  • No termination charges or conditions will apply
  • A small downgrade fee will be payable.

Full details of these price changes, including terms and conditions, have been notified via ACCN263 and can be viewed on the Pricing area of the Openreach website
