ETH019/12 Technology Migration from WES WEES BES to EAD launch pricing

10/04/2012    For Information

This briefing is applicable to all Ethernet Communications Providers

This briefing is notification of the launch of technology migration options of WES/WEES/BES (up to 1G/bits) to EAD services with launch occurring on 10 April 2012

Openreach provided a 90 day pricing change notification on 9 February 2012 under briefing reference ETH009/12. Following a number of customer requests, Openreach sought an Ofcom waiver to reduce the 90 day notification. Ofcom have today issued a statement accepting the request, so Openreach is pleased to announce that this offer is now open from 10 April 2012. A new ACCN OR 279 will be issued to reflect this date change and will replace ACCN OR 269.

10 April 2012 will be the launch date of the technology migration options for the transfer of existing WES/WEES/BES services (up to 1G/bits) to new EAD services via a bandwidth upgrade using existing fibre (subject to survey). Depending on the upgrade chosen, the Communication provider would attract up 50% discount on the prevailing EAD connection charge as shown below:

  • 25% discount on the EAD 100Mbit/s standard and Local Access connection charge, for circuits transferring and upgrading from WES/WEES/BES 10 Mbit/s standard and Local Access services respectively.
  • 40% discount on EAD 1Gbit/s Local Access connection charges for circuits transferring and upgrading from WES/WEES/BES 10/100 Mbit/s Local Access services.
  • 50% discount on the standard EAD 1Gbit/s connection charge for circuits transferring and upgrading from WES/WEES/BES 10/100 Mbit/s standard services.
  • Early termination charges will not be applied on the legacy circuit.
  • CPs will be able to request a transfer of the following product variants as from 10 April 2012 (subject to survey).
