MPF / SMPF

Metallic Path facility (MPF) enables you to offer both voice and broadband services. It provides a two-wire metallic transmission path between the Network Terminating Equipment at a customer’s premises and a main distribution or jumper frame at the exchange. We can also provide floor space, power, cooling and connectivity (internal/external tie cabling and backhauling of data from an exchange to a core network) depending on your needs.

Shared Metallic Path Facility (SMPF) enables you to offer broadband services over the copper network. This means you can provide a broadband service to your customer while another communications provider supplies voice services on the same line – hence it being “shared”.  SMPF provides a two-wire metallic transmission path between the Network Terminating Equipment at a customer’s premises and a main distribution or jumper frame at the exchange.
