Since Openreach was entrusted with guardianship of the UK's access network, the telecommunications marketplace has seen nothing short of a revolution. Falling prices and rising speeds have led to an explosion in competition to create the world’s most vibrant consumer broadband marketplace.
But that is only the beginning and Openreach is committed to leading the industry into the next phase of its transformation. We are driving the debates with government, the regulator, communications providers and end users on how to make next generation access a reality, while staying true to the equivalence principles that are so central to the new market we have created. The next generation of access technology will require value creation within the UK market to encourage investment.
We know we have a huge responsibility with ever increasing end user expectations, but it is one we will continue to meet, for the sake of our customers and their customers – throughout the UK.
